As part of the Environmental Studies curriculum, 2nd graders took a closer look at insect life.
In order to investigate the bugs more closely, we lifted them into the
"petrimalja" (investigation jar) gently and placed the cover on top to prevent
them from escaping.
Here is our bug farm. The teacher told us to place some soil and grass into
the jars to make it comfortable for the new inhabitants and make some air
holes in the lids. After school we went out into nature and captured our bugs.
We found different kinds of bugs such as beetles, ladybird, ants, centipedes,
grasshoppers and some smelly bugs.
The investigation equipment consisted of investigation jars, tweezers and
magnifying glasses. It was fun to see how many legs the bugs had and the
